Shutdown affects normal life

Imphal, Dec 11 : The total shutdown called by the Coordinating Committee (CorCom) boycotting President Droupadi Murmu's visit to Manipur brought normal life to a standstill today.
The shutdown, which is set to continue until the President departs from the State, resulted in deserted roads and market areas, including the Khwairamband Keithel.
With minimal vehicle movement and educational institutions and most shops closed, the shutdown disrupted daily activities in Imphal and adjacent places.
Attendance at Government offices  was also extremely low.
Security forces, on the other hand, heightened their presence across Imphal and surrounding areas in response to the high-profile visit.
Authorities have taken extra precautions, particularly as the President is scheduled to attend the Nupi Lan Day observance at the Nupi Lan Memorial Complex tomorrow.
In addition to the events in Imphal, the President is also scheduled to visit Senapati tomorrow.
