IMPHAL, Dec 13 : Lamabam Martin shone with a seven-for to fashion PSC, Khuyathong a 9-wicket win over KIYC, Kshetrigao in a Group B match of the ongoing 10th MNCA Plate Tournament.
It was the fourth straight win for PSC in five games after an opening game defeat to IBSA.
KIYC won the toss and opted to bat first here at Lairenjam Public Ground. They however were dismissed cheaply for 39 runs in 15.4 overs with Lamabam Martin collecting 7 wickets (7/14 in 7 overs) including three in the third over and three in the 7th over.
Huirongbam Biteshwor also claimed two (2/5 in 3.4 overs) as none of the KIYC batters managed to post a double digit score.
PSC then chased down the target in just 5.4 overs courtesy of an unbeaten 35-run second wicket stand between Hijam Boba 15 off 15 and Laimayum Prasantajit 18 off 16.
Mv Md Aman picked the only wicket in the form of Th Lellel 4 in the innings.
L Martin was eventually adjudged player of the match.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel earned their third Group A win in five matches by defeating OSCAR, Paona Bazar by 96 runs.
Electing to bat first, YUCC rode on Laishram Bidyashwor’s 97-ball 105 (11 fours), Ningthoujam Thoungamba’s 78-ball 61 (6 fours), and Amar Sandham’s unbeaten 38 off 14 (1 four, 4 sixes) to pile up 247/6 in the allotted 35 overs.
YUCC then bowled out OSCAR for 151 runs in 28 overs as Shyam 3/19 in 5 overs, Moirangthem Kadamjit 3/40 in 7 overs and L Prithiviraj 2/31 combined well to disrupt the chase.
For OSCAR, Pawankumar 2/55, Ph Deepa 2/37, and Pradeep 1/25 were among the wickets before Wahengbam Pawankumar 40 not out off 39, Longjam Robinson 19 off 22 Jawan 18 off 10 led the scoring in reply. Bidyashwor who shone with a ton was adjudged player of the match.
