U-19 Women’s One Day Trophy Barkatun bowls Manipur to 8-wicket win over Meghalaya

IMPHAL, Dec 15 : Barkatun shone with the ball as Manipur thrashed Meghalaya by 8 wickets for the second straight Plate Group win in the U-19 Women’s One Day Trophy at Lady Amritbai Daga College Ground, Nagpur today.
Meghalaya won the toss and elected to bat first. They however did not fare well with the bat and eventually got bundled out for 63 runs in 28.2 overs as Barkatun (4/19 in 8.2 overs), K Sayatombi (2/6 in 4 overs), Tongbram Bandana (2/15 in 6 overs), and Thoithoibi (1/6 in 6 overs) joined  forces to make things hard for the rivals.
Cheanchi 20 off 71 was the only double digit run getter for Meghalaya today before S Kebriya 43 not out off 52 balls (7 fours) and Moirangthem Creety 1 not out off 2 took Manipur to the target within 15.5 overs with 8 wickets left to spare. For Meghalaya M Singh got the wickets of L Prena 8 and N Taniya 4.
Manipur, who had registered a 9-wicket win over Arunachal Pradesh in the first encounter, will play Mizoram in the third match on December 17.
