Manipur Veteran Cricket KCC beat SNC by 17 runs to close in on quarterfinals

IMPHAL, Dec 17 : KCC, Kongba defeated SNC, Sangaiprou by 17 runs for the third win in four Group C matches of the ongoing 22nd Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament and closed in on quarterfinals.
Asked to bat first, KCC piled up 189 runs for 8 wickets in the allotted 30 overs and restricted toss winners SNC to 172/8 to script a 17-run victory.
Devkanta 40, Sanjit 28, Tomba 24 and Sanjoy 23 made the most of the runs for KCC in the first innings that saw Ranendrajit (2/21), Ronelkumar (2/27), and Suraj (2/17) sharing 6 wickets for SNC.
In reply, Joykumar 45 off 34 and Suraj 42 off 37 produced sensible batting but their efforts fell short as they ended up collecting 172 runs in the allotted 30 overs.
Robertson (2/31), Bonny (2/26), and Sanjoy (2/46) shared a bulk of 6 wickets for KCC in the second innings that also saw Chumthao and Lenin claiming a wicket apiece to throttle the SNC chase.
Bonny of KCC who scored 14 runs and picked two wickets was adjudged man of the match.
