RNEF-MICA beat BSC-B in veteran cricket

IMPHAL, Dec 18: RNEF-MICA Mayang Imphal beat BSC-B Brahmapur by 119 runs in the 22nd Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground, Imphal West today.
RNEF-MICA won the toss and elected to bat first.
Jasobanta, who was named the man of the match, knocked a massive 64 runs off 51 balls to help the team reach 206 for 7 in 30 overs.
Jagu (34 off 29), Raju (32 off 24), Max (26 off 27), Dinesh (10 off 12), Dhaneshwor (7 off 14), Romio (5 off 5), Goutam (4 off 9) and David (2 off 9) contributed runs.
BSC-B Brahmapur's Banikanta knocked down 3 wickets. Romesh took 2 wickets; Dippu and Sushil took one wicket each.
Dinesh and Jasobanta, who were on a streak taking wickets, arrested BSC-B Brahmapur's run at 87.
Dinesh scalped 5 wickets and Jasobanta took 3 wickets. Dhaneshwor took one wicket.
In the failed chase, only Swami (31 off 38) and Banikanta (16 off 13) could score 2-digit runs.
