SSU, KCDO secure easy wins in MNCA Plate Tournament

IMPHAL, Dec 18: SSU Singjamei and KCDO Kongpal had easy wins over KIYC Kshetrigao and SDC Laipham Khunou respectively in today's league matches of the 10th MNCA Plate Tournament 2025-26.
While SSU Singjamei thrashed KIYC Kshetrigao by 113 runs, and KCDO beat SDC by 7 wickets.
At Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal, SSU won the toss and opted to bat first to amass a massive 239 runs for 7 wickets in 35 overs.
In the chase, all KIYC wickets fell at 126.
Sougrakpam Douglas (59 off 51), Naorem Bobo Singh (55 off 61) and Saikhomba Thongam (49 off 31) demonstrated skills to take SSU to 239 runs in 35 overs.
Rupachandra (23 off 32), Anand Mangang (23 off 19), Ratan (5 off 8), Thongam Robertson (5 off 6) and Sujeet (1 off 2) contributed runs.
KIYC's Mv Md Aman took 3 wickets. Mohammad Abdulla Khan scalped 2 wickets, and Aribam Nilkant Sharma took one.
Facing SSU's excellent bowling and fielding, KIYC's chase for the target fell short as wickets crumbled one after another.
Akip Zensi (42 runs off 40 balls) performed his best to keep the chase alive before falling in the 15th over.
Besides Zensi, only Aribam Nilkant Singh (14 off 23) from the team managed to score double-digit runs.
At Lairenjam Public Ground, Imphal, an excellent Devendro scalped 7 wickets and helped KCDO restrict SDC's runs at 63.
Mandingbam Surjit Singh took 2 wickets and Mutum Jodiba took one wicket.
Only Sachin (13 off 27) and Shyamananda Kh (22 off 31) could score two-digit runs for SDC.
In KCDO's easy winning knock of 65 for 3 in just 8.1 overs, star wicket taker Devendro did splendidly and scored 29 runs off 27 balls.
Bikram Phamdom (4 off 2) and Gold (2 off 5) went off the field early.
While Mutum Jodiba didn't get a chance to face the ball, Geetchandra Moirangthem shouldered the responsibility, and finished the chase knocking 15 runs off 17 balls.
