Jinta’s all-round show helps YPHU (N) tame CYCLONE by 8 wickets

IMPHAL, Dec 1 : Jinta produced an all-round performance to seal an 8-wicket for YPHU- Nongin (N), Lalambung against CYCLONE, Thangmeiband in a Group B match of the ongoing 22nd Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground.
CYCLONE, who won the toss and opted to bat first, had a tough outing with the bat and were dismissed for 113 runs in 29.2 overs as Surjit (3/25) and Jinta (3/14) wreaked havoc across their line up.
Shashi 21, Dhanendrajit 18 not out and Chinglensana 15 were the leading run getters for CYCLONE in the first innings that also saw Shantikumar, Premananda and Boiton pick a wicket apiece.
In reply, Thenthen 17 off 40 and Robin 23 off 30 gave YPHU a slow but significant start before  Jinta 42 not out and  Boiton 24 not out finished off the chase within 19.3 overs.
Jinta was eventually adjudged man of the match.
