YUCC, PSC triumphant in 10th MNCA Plate Tournament

IMPHAL, Dec 1 : YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel and PSC, Khuyathong registered comfortable wins in today’s matches of the 10th MNCA Plate Tournament.
 In a Group A match staged at Lairenjam Public Ground, YUCC bowled out RRCC, Churachandpur for 87 runs in 19.3 overs before cruising to the winning 91 in 17.3 overs with 6 wickets left to spare.
Md Irfan 21 off 31, Irungbam Rahul 13 off 14 and Louriyam Elan 12 off 15 were the main run getter for RRCC after they won the toss and elected to bat first as YUCC’s Shougrakpam Santosh (4/6 in 5 overs) and Laishram Somraj (4/26) shared a bulk of 8 wickets and Shyam picked two wickets (2/13).
In the chase, Laishram Prithibiraj 33 off 42 and Moirangthem Kadamjit 27 not out off 36 led YUCC to the victory as RRCC’s Ajay (2/20), Md Irfan (1/24) and L Pravin (1/18) shared four wickets.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, PSC notched up an 86-run victory against NAPSA, Kha Imphal after losing by 83 runs to IBSA in their Group B opener.
Put in to bat first, PSC raised a modest total of 191 runs for 9 wickets in 32 overs riding on major contributions from Laimayum Prasantajit (46 off 44 : 7 fours and 1 six), Tarique Aziz (30 off 26 balls; 4 fours and 1 six), Hijam Boba (28 off 39 balls; 3 fours) and Okram Netrajit (24 off 19 balls; 3 fours and 1 six).
PSC then bundled out NAPSA for 105 runs in 26.4 overs  courtesy of prolific bowling performances from Huirongbam Biteshwor (4/8 in 7 overs) and Soubam Gautam (3/22 in 4.4 overs) who shared a bulk of 7 wickets between them.
Laishram Electronic 30 off 41, N Bipin 22 off 35 and H Boney 20 off 15 were the leading run getters for NAPSA in the chase.
For NAPSA, T Dhanakuber (2/34), A Manoranjan (2/34), and H Boney (2/28) led the bowling attack in the first innings.
