10th MNCA Plate Tourney SU end IBSA’s four-game winning streak

IMPHAL, Dec 19 : IBSA’s four game winning streak in the 10th MNCA Plate Tournament Group B competition came crashing down as they suffered an 8-wicket loss to Sagolband United (SU) at Moijing Public Ground today.
IBSA elected to bat first after winning the toss and ended up gathering 164 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 28 overs but SU eased to the winning 169 within 19.2 overs with 8 wickets left to spare.
 Nongmeikapam Komol starred with a quickfire 62 not out off 34 deliveries as he finished off the chase with Ningombam Ambedkar 26 not out off 37 balls after they were reduced to 73/2 in 8 overs. Earlier in the first innings, WM Rajak 29 off 47, Nandakumar 25 off 23, and Khundrakpam James 21 off 20 led the scoring for IBSA as Sagolsem Hemjit 2/25 picked two wickets for SU and N Johnson, Th Della, K Kennedy, and A Alen picked a wicket apiece.
For IBSA, Mk Tamim and Md Shah Jahan claimed a wicket apiece in a lost cause.
Elsewhere at Lairenjam Public Ground, OSCAR, Paona Bazar beat RRCC, Churachandpur by 7 wickets for their third win in five Group A matches.
Toss winners RRCC were bundled out for 162 runs by OSCAR riding on Wahengbam Pawankumar (4/23 in 7 overs) and Indrajit (3/32) before Thounaojam Sanjit steered OSCAR to the target with his unbeaten 77 off 57 balls (10 fours and 1 six).
Ajay 30, I Rahul 29 and M Rameshwor 23 were the leading scorers for RRCC in the first innings before Th Pradeep 28 off 31 and W Pawankumar 29 off 34 assisted Sanjit well and set up the win for OSCAR.
L Elan 2/48 and Md Irfan 1/24 were among the wickets for RRCC.
