U-19 Women’s One Day Trophy Manipur go down by 78 runs to Tripura

IMPHAL, Dec 19 : Manipur went down by 78 runs to Tripura for the second straight loss in four U-19 Women’s One Day Trophy Plate Group matches at VCA Stadium, Civil Lines, Nagpur today.
Tripura erected a modest total of 196 runs for 8 wickets after electing to bat first and dismissed Manipur for 118 runs within 32.2 overs to earn the 78-run victory and go second in the Group table behind Mizoram who have won four of four matches so far.
Anuska Shil starred with the bat for Tripura today as she struck 13 fours on the way to her 139-ball 96 before Susmita Teli posted an unbeaten 33 off just 20 deliveries to take the team close to 200-run mark.
Tongbram Bandana returned with the best bowling figures of 3/29 in 9 overs for Manipur in the innings as Priyanshee, Th Alice, and Nonibala claimed a wicket apiece.
Chasing 197 for the victory, Manipur ended up scoring 118 runs despite efforts from Barkatun 30 off 21 and L Prena 24 off 34 as Puja Tapan Das swept through the State batting line-up and enjoyed a haul of 6 wickets (6/30) in her spell of 9.2 overs.
Anta Rani Noatia (2/30) also picked two wickets for Tripura to assist Puja Tapan Das in dismantling Manipur.
Manipur will play Sikkim in the final league match on December 21 at VCA Stadium, Jamtha, Nagpur.
