Three kids hurt in blast

IMPHAL, Dec 20: At least three children sustained injuries after a powerful bomb exploded at Molnoi Kuki village located in the adjoining area of Kakching district and Tengnoupal district this afternoon.
The bomb, suspected to be an old one, went off when the minors mishandled it at around 1.30 pm at Molnoi Kuki village under Tengnoupal district.
Three minors reportedly sustained injuries and were rushed to 26 Sector Assam Rifles headquarters, Pallel.  They are presently undergoing treatment in the military hospital.  
The injured minors have been identified as Henugao Baite (10) s/o Dauthanglen Baite, his younger brother Jamgunsei Baite (8) and Ngamguang Haokip (8) s/o (L) Haokholen Haokip, all from Molnoi Kuki village.    
Sources said that one of the minors is in serious condition.
Soon after the incident, a team of Tengnoupal police station rushed to the spot and made an inspection of the blast site.
A case has been registered at Tengnoupal police station regarding the incident for further investiga- tion, said the sources.
