National Mathematics Day observed

IMPHAL, Dec 22 : As observed across the country, National Mathematics Day was celebrated today at Kamakhya Pemton College, Hiyangthang.
The observance was jointly organised by the Department of Mathematics and IQAC of Kamakhya Pemton College.
The programme was attended by Kamakhya Pemton College’s Principal Dr W Nimai, Vice Principal Dr S Ajit and Department of Mathematics’ Head Dr L Nevy among others.
As part of the event, a State Level Quiz Competition was also conducted.
Similarly, National Mathematics Day was also observed today at the auditorium of DM College of Arts, Dhanamanjuri University, Imphal.
The observance was jointly organised by the Department of Mathematics, DM University and Students’ Forum For Mathematics, DM University.
The event was graced by dignitaries, including Prof Sagolsem Lanchenba Meetei, Principal, DM College of Arts; Dr Th Nilchandra, Head, Department of Mathematics, DM College of Arts; Prof L Shambu, Head, Department of Mathematics, DM University; Prof M Kuber, Head, Department of Mathematics, DM College of Science; and Dr S Samarendra, Head, Department of Mathematics, GP Women’s College. During the event, Dr RK Robindro, Head, Department of Computer Science, Manipur University gave a talk on the topic, “The role of Mathematics in the development of modern AI”.
