5th MNCA Superplate Trophy Vivekananda, Kalyana steer TCMDC to 146-run victory against FORCE

IMPHAL, Dec 23 : Laishram Vivekananda smacked a 98-ball 128 before Kongbrailatpam Kalyan wreaked havoc and enjoyed a six-for to help TCMDC, Thongju Part II Pechu Lampak register a huge 146-run victory against FORCE, Kshetrigao in a Group A match of the ongoing 5th MNCA Superplate Trophy.
Asked to bat first at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, TCMDC posted a competitive total of 224 for all wickets down courtesy of Vivekananda’s ton studded with 8 fours and 8 sixes and Kalyan Sharma’s 17-ball 22 (4 fours).
FORCE then slumped to 78 all out in reply as Kalyan Sharma and Laishram Valinda (2/19) proved unplayable.
Only Ziad Khan 15 off 35 and Md Islauddin 14 off 15 were able to register double digit figures for FORCE in the innings that saw Kongbrailatpam Kalyan Sharma claimed a rare hattrick in the 13th over by bowling out Kabir Ahmed on 2 and incoming Najir ali and Shamirul Haque on ducks in the first three deliveries and left the team struggling at 42/6.
Kharibam Suraj and Laishram Birjeet also picked a wicket apiece for TCMDC in this innings.
For FORCE, Md Abdul Rajaque (3/41), Fajirul Haque (2/59), and Khushru Pravez (2/25) shared 7 wickets.
Elsewhere at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College playground, AKSDO, Khangabok opened their Group B campaign with a 12-run win over Al-Ameen, Lilong.
Put in to bat first, AKSDO were dismissed for 143 runs in 32.4 overs with Yumnam Rohit (5/18 in 6 overs) and Md Ziour Rahman (2/7 in 1.4 overs) devastating their line up.
AKSDO however defended their total by bundling out Al-Ameen for 131 runs within 29.2 overs courtesy of a concerted bowling effort from Laishram Akash (3/25 in 5.2 overs), Laishram Roshan (3/24 in 7 overs), Laishram Winchelly (2/21 in 5 overs), and Laishram Rohit (1/21 in 3 overs).
Laishram Samson 39 off 56, Khundongbam Khamba 25 off 46, and Winchelly 27 off 29 were the leading run getters for the Khangabok side while Shohel Akter 37 off 75, Th Boboicha 19 off 25 and Md Ziour Rahman 19 off 12 led the chase in a lost cause for Al-Ameen.
