IMPHAL, Dec 23 : OSCAR, Paona Bazar got the better of KCDO, Kongpal by 3 wickets in a Group A match of the ongoing 10th MNCA Plate Tournament for their fourth win in 6 matches.
It was a clash of the bowlers at Moijing Public Ground as OSCAR bundled out toss winners KCDO for 83 runs in 25.3 overs before OSCAR fought their way to the winning 87 at the cost of 7 wickets within 17.2 overs.
Gold 24 off 38, M Geetchandra 11 off 25, and N Debit 11 not out off 37 were the only double digit run getters for KCDO as Indrajit (4/19 in 7 overs), Wahengbam Pawankumar (3/23 in 7 overs), Ph Deepa (2/15 in 5.3 overs) and Jawan (1/23 in 6 overs) combined well to share the 10 wickets while maintaining excellent economies.
In reply, Devendro picked three wickets for 18 runs in 4.2 overs and Bony, M Surjit, Surjit and K Netajit shared four wickets for KCDO but their total proved too small as Thingujam Surjon led late fightback and stayed unbeaten on 25 off 26 balls with L Robinson 6 off 5 to seal the victory.
With the fourth win, OSCAR remain in the contention for top two finish alongside KCDO (5 wins and 2 losses) and YAC (5 win and 1 loss) who have registered 5 wins apiece, and YUCC who had also posted four wins in 7 matches.
In a dead rubber Group B match staged at Lairenjam Public Ground, NASPA, Kha Imphal thrashed KIYC, Kshetrigao by 97 runs for their third win in 6 matches.
Bipin produced a remarkable 71-ball 63 knock laden with 6 fours to steer NAPSA to a daunting total of 233 for 7 in the allotted 35 overs before Kshetrimayum Chingkhei enjoyed a five for (5/14 in 7 overs including 3 maidens) and Shamurailatpam Deepankar Sharma picked two (2/31 in 7 overs) to restrict KIYC to 136/9 in the chase.
Deepankar Sharma had also scored a 38-ball 37 earlier in the first innings as Heisnam Bony added 31 off 30.
For KIYC, Asem Kishwor picked three wickets (3/35 in 7 overs) in the NAPSA innings before scoring the highest 32 off 51 in the chase as his compatriot Thokchom Rajiv finished with 2 wickets (2/45 in 7 overs).
