11 children honoured

IMPHAL, Dec 26 : As part of the National-level Veer Bal Diwas 2025 celebration, the Social Welfare Department honoured eleven noteworthy children of the State at their North AOC Complex today.
Speaking as the chief guest, Robert Singh Kshetrimayum, Social Welfare Commissioner cum Secretary informed that President Droupadi Murmu has honoured 20 children from across the country with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, India’s highest civilian award for children during the National-level Veer Bal Diwas 2025 celebration.
As a part of this celebration, the Social Welfare Department also organised today's programme to encourage the 11 outstanding children and recognize their achievements, he added.
With the efforts of the Social Welfare Department and Child Welfare Committee, children of the State have been able to participate and bag significant achievements in various National events. He appealed for collective efforts in producing more of such noteworthy children from Manipur in the future.
The Veer Bal Diwas 2025 celebration held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi was broadcast live at today's event.
Speaking on the occasion, Anna Arambam, Director, Social Welfare, said that the Department has been working in the fields of children's education, health and nutrition, psycho-social care, skill development, sports promotion, empowerment, protection and welfare to boost their confidence and dignity.
She also highlighted the importance of upholding children's rights.
