Suspended animation must be lifted first: RK Imo

IMPHAL, Dec 27: BJP MLA RK Imo has stated that no popular Government can be formed in Manipur as long as the State Assembly is kept under suspended animation.
Speaking at the inauguration of a newly constructed Urban Primary Health Centre at Sagolband Nepra Menjor Leikai today,  RK Imo said that steps to form a popular Government must be preceded by lifting of the suspended animation and election of a leader.
BJP MLAs held a joint meeting with Central leaders at New Delhi on December 14, 2025 to pave a way for lifting the suspended animation and to elect a leader, Imo said.
Though it will be a little far-fetched to say that complete normalcy has returned in Mnaipur, it would not be any exaggeration to say that the situation has improved considerably, he asserted.
He also sought support from the public towards building a united and developed Manipur.
He went on to claim that development works have been going on in Sagolband AC without interruption even though there were certain difficulties.  
He added that 99 per cent of Sagolband AC has access to potable tap water.
