Junior Boys and Women’s Polo K&MMRS-A overwhelm Arvind PC-A 15-0 to cruise into boys’ final

IMPHAL, Dec 29 : K&MMRS-A demolished Arvind PC-A 15-0 to cruise into the boys' final of the 9th Junior Boys and 20th Women State Polo Tournaments being organised by the All Manipur Polo Association at Mapal Kangjeibung.
In the first semi-final match of the 7-team knock out tournament for boys, W Nongdamba scored 5 goals, Kh Devdas scored 4 goals and Thokchom Mangal and N Abhisek added 3 goals apiece to set up the huge 15-0 win for K&MMRS-A.
K&MMRS-A led the first chukker 4-0 as Nongdamba and Mangal added a goal apiece and Abhisek added twice before Mangal added one and Nongdamba added thrice in the second chukker to make it 8-0.
Th Mangal and Devdas then scored a goal apiece in the third chukker to hand K&MMRS-A a 10-0 lead before Nongdamba and Abhisek added one goal apiece and Devdas scored thrice in the final chukker to complete the 15-0 demolition of Arvind Polo Club-A.
Earlier in a league match of the women’s tournament, Enourembi and Laxmi scored four goals apiece to set up a 9-3 win for AR Women’s Polo Team against Ibudhou Pakhangba PC.
Kh Chaoba and S Ngounu scored a goal apiece in the opening chukker to earn Ibudhou Pakhangba a 2-1 lead as Enourembi scored her first for AR Women’s Polo Team in the same chukker.
AR Women’s Polo Team however rode on two goals from Enourembi and a goal apiece from Veronica and Laxmi in the second chukker to turn things around and earn a 5-2 lead.
Laxmi scored twice in the third chukker against S Ngounu’s single for Ibudhou Pakhangba PC to earn her team a 7-3 lead before Laxmi and Enourembi added a goal apiece in the final chukker to seal the 9-3 win.
