SNC beat YWC by 7 wicket to spice up quarterfinal race

IMPHAL, Dec 29 : SNC, Sangaiprou joined the fray for two quarterfinal berths from Group C in the 22nd Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament by handing YWC-Langthabal (L) a 7-wicket defeat for the third win in four matches.
REYS, Nagamapal and KCC, Kongba are already in the contention for the two berths by posting three wins in four matches respectively.
Put in to bat first, YWC-L were dismissed for 132 runs in 28.2 overs as SNC’s Joykumar (4/28) and Pradeep (3/13) shared 7 crucial wickets before their compatriots Guna 62 not out off 81 and Ranendrajit 47 not out off 57 overhauled the total within 26.2 overs with 7 wickets left to spare.
Gojendro 27 off 34, Rickeal 18 off 19,  Kumarjit 17 off 20, and Sasi 17 off 24 led the scoring for YWC in the first innings before Tejkumar 2/17 and Dinachandra 1/22 shared the three wickets in the second innings. With it, YWC-L’s two game winning run came to an end.
Guna of SNC who led the chase with an unbeaten half century, was adjudged man of the match.
