NSG : K Athoiba, Ch Tomthin swell Manipur’s tally to 7 medals

IMPHAL, Dec 3 : Koijam Athoiba won a butterfly stroke gold medal while Ch Tomthin clinched his second diving gold medal to swell Manipur’s tally in the 69th National School Games Swimming to 7 medals including 5 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze.
Athoiba won the gold medal in the U-14 boys’ 50 m butterfly stroke gold today with a time of 27.02 seconds.
Notably, Ch Tomthin, had won Manipur a gold medal in the highboard diving competition for U-14 boys with a total score of 275 points on December 1, claimed another gold medal by topping 1 m springboard competition with a total score of 193.25 points.
Sapam David had also clinched a gold medal in the U-14 boys’ 200 m freestyle competition with a time of 2 minutes and 4.75 seconds and a bronze medal in the 100 m butterfly stroke competition taking 59.19 seconds on December 1.
David also won the 400 m freestyle competition gold taking 4 minutes and 25.46 seconds before securing 4x100 m medley relay event silver medal alongside Y Aaron, Koijam Athoiba,  and Leishangthem Bishwajit.
