SHADOW, SSU win in 10th MNCA Plate Tournament

IMPHAL, Dec 3 : SHADOW, Thangmeiband and SSU, Singjamei emerged victorious in today’s matches of the ongoing 10th MNCA Plate Tournament.
SHADOW sealed an 18 runs victory against YAC, Yaiskul for the first Group A win in two games at Lairenjam Public Ground.
SHADOW posted 152/6 in the allotted 35 overs after they were asked to bat first and successfully defended their total by bowling out YAC for 134 runs in 29.1 overs. Shilheiba starred with a slow by significant 97-ball 61 for SHADOW before Ayekpam Gobin (5/20) and Soibam Loyumba (3/22) ran through the YAC line up the secure the 18-run victory.
For YAC, W Indrakumar picked three wickets (3/19) as three others claimed a wicket apiece before L Abocha 24, Nehru 23, S Jacky 21 and W Indrakumar 19 led the scoring in the chase.
Meanwhile, SSU bundled out SU, Sagolband for 147 runs after opting to ball first and chased down the target in 30.3 overs with 5 wickets left to spare at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.
Sudarson 35 and Nongmeikapam Komol 33 were the leading run getter for SU in the first innings that saw SSU’s Th Saikhomba (3/26) claiming three wickets and the trio of Bollanath (2/20), N Johnson (2/18), and S Bindeshwor (2/22) sharing 6 wickets.
In reply, Sujeet 24 not out and S Bindeshwor 27 not out took SSU to the winning 150/5 after Saikhomba 41 and S Douglas 24 set up the momentum.
For SU, RK Philan, Th Della, Dihamlung Golmei, K Kennedy and Premkumar picked a wicket apiece.
