IMPHAL, Dec 4: Manipur swimmers have won 7 gold and 2 silver medals in the 69th National School Games 2025-26 in Delhi.
On the 5th day of the games today, Manipur won two gold medals in the swimming and diving events.
Ch Tomthin won gold in the 3 metre springboard diving event of under-14 category. He scored 201.65 points to be placed in the first position.
He has already won two gold medals in the one metre springboard diving and highboard diving events.
In swimming, Akoijam Athouba Singh has so far amassed two gold medals in single's events.
He completed the 100 metre freestyle event in 57.37 seconds to win his first gold.
Athouba bagged his second gold by completing the 50M butterfly in 27.02 seconds.
Swimmer David Sapam won gold medals in the 400M Freestyle and 200M Freestyle events, and bagged a silver in the 100M Butterfly race.
He completed the 400M Freestyle in 8:25.46, the 200M in 2:04.75 and the 100M Butterfly in 59.19.
In the 4x100M medley relay event, Y Aron, Akoijam Athouba, Bishwajit Leisha-ngthem and David Sapam won the silver. They completed the relay in 4:28.70.
