AR Polo Team-A, Universal PC Team-A reach men’s pre-quarters

IMPHAL, Dec 6 : AR Polo Team-A and Universal PC Team-A reached the men’s pre-quarterfinals in the 2nd DGAR Polo Championships being underway at Mapal Kangjeibung.
Universal PC Team-A sealed their place in the pre-quarterfinals by securing a 10-3 win over Nambul Mapal Polo Club Team-A in a Round of 32 clash today.
M Bilam led the scoring for Universal PC Team -A adding three goals alone across the first and the fourth chukkers while K Pandit, P Bung, and Th Rishikanta scored two goals apiece. Kh Iranjeet also added a goal for the team in the fourth chukker.
Universal PC Team -A dominated the game thoroughly and led the first chukker 3-0 before taking a 5-2 lead after two chukkers. They took a 7-2 lead after three chukker before coming out 10-3 winners by pumping in three goals in the final chukker.
L Dhaneshwor scored twice for Nambul Mapal Polo Club Team-A as L Antik added one.
Later in the day, AR Polo Team-A rode on S Bon Bon’s 7-goal feat to earn a 10-0 win over Ibudhou Marjing Khubam Kanba Lup, Heingang.
M Kuber also added twice for the winners as L Joykumar contributed one to seal the 10-0 win.
Earlier in a first round clash, Nongpok Apunba Kangjei Lup romped 6-0 past UHALL Polo Club thanks to a treble from K Rishikumar, a double from B Shantikumar and one from K Premkumar.
They will next play MPSC Team-B in a round of 32 clash on December 13.
