IMPHAL, Dec 6 : Mutum Jodiba produced an all-round show to help KCDO, Kongpal crush RRCC, Churachandpur by 164 runs at Moijing Public Ground for the third straight Group A win in the 10th MNCA Plate Tournament 2025-26 today.
KCDO elected to bat first after winning the toss and raised a respectable total of 238 runs for the loss of 8 wickets riding on half century knocks from Gold 55 off 46 (6 fours and 2 sixes) and Mutum Jodiba 52 off 39 (7 fours and 2 sixes).
Sorokhaibam Surjit 3/3 in 3 overs, Mutum Jodiba 3/8 in 2.1 overs, and Bony 2/15 in 4 overs then joined forces to set up the RRCC collapse at 74/9 within 19.1 overs as the last man Suraj had to retire hurt. Mandingbam Surjit also claimed a wicket for KCDO in the second innings.
Konsam Netajit 34 off 30, Moirangthem Mani 23 off 13, Phamdom Bikram 16 off 15, and Sorokhaibam Surjit 10 off 6 also managed double digit runs for KCDO in the first innings that saw Ajay of RRCC claiming three wickets (3/75 in 6 overs) and Md Irfan Khan (2/39) and Bineto (2/19) sharing four wickets.
Suraj of RRCC also picked a wicket in the first innings.
For RRCC, L Pravin Kumar 16 off 26 and Louriyam Elan 17 off 31 were the leading run getters.
Elsewhere at Lairenjam Public Ground, NAPSA, Kha Imphal sealed their second Group B win in three matches by handing SU, Sagolband a 132-run defeat.
NAPSA, who won the toss and opted to bat first, erected a modest total of 207 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 35 overs and restricted SU to 75/9 thanks to frugal bowling performances.
Karam Kennedy of SU shone with his bowling in the first innings as he returned with a haul of five wickets (5/29 in 7 overs) but his efforts went in vain as their batters failed to withstand clinical NAPSA bowlers.
Shamurailatpam Deepankar Sharma produced a slow but significant 70-ball 56 (4 fours) for NAPSA in the first innings that also saw Premananda 37 off 22 (4 fours and 1 six), Ningthoujam Bipin 32 off 59 (1 four), Ksh Richard 26 off 29 (2 fours) and Heisnam Boney 23 off 27 (1 four and 1 six) making double digit scores.
Angom Alen (1/48) and Premkumar (1/42) were also among the wickets for SU in the innings before RK Philan 15 off 23 and Dihamlung Golmei 12 not out off 47 emerged the only double digit run getters for the team in the chase. NAPSA deployed a 7-bowler attack in the second innings while Wayenbam Naresh (3/15 in 6 overs), A Manoranjam (2/20 in 7 overs), Tongbram Dhanakuber (2/13 in 5 overs), and Heisnam Boney (1/10) shared 7 crucial wickets.
