Bhalla urged
IMPHAL, Dec 8: Representatives of six student bodies (AMSU, MSF, DESAM, KSA, AIMS and SUK) today called on Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at the Raj Bhavan today.
The student representatives talked with the Governor for around 20 minutes and they urged the Governor to make sure that school textbooks are available in time before the commencement of the next academic session.
They appealed to Ajay Kumar Bhalla to see that textbooks for up to Class X are available in time in the same paper quality as NCERT textbooks.
Sources said that the student representatives also expressed disapproval of the removal of BOSEM Chairman and appointment of a bureaucrat officer as Chairman in-charge.
Pointing out that the posts of BOSEM Secretary and Examination Controller are being held by officers on in-charge basis for a long time, they urged the Governor to appoint a regular Secretary and Examination Controller.
After listening to the student representatives, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla assured to look into their grievances.
However, the Governor refrained from commenting on the matter of BOSEM Chairman as a case is pending in Court on the same matter.
