Artistic gymnasts Umajit, Ariha reach final rounds

IMPHAL, Feb 9 : Although Manipur drew blank on the 13th day of the 38th National Games being hosted by Uttarakhand, State's artistic gymnasts raised medal hopes by making it to the final rounds.
 Artistic gymnast O Umajit Singh reached the men's final round by registering 17.25 points in the qualification round while Ariha Pangambam secured 18.15 points to earn her place in the final round.
 State's aerobic gymnasts have earlier sealed their final round berths for the mixed pair, trio and group events, according to gymnastics coach Ranjan Yumnam.
Men's hockey team suffer huge loss
 The Manipur men's hockey team slumped to their third loss in the ongoing games as they went down by 0-4 goals to Odisha today at Vandhana Kataria Hockey Stadium, Haridwar. Manipur had earlier suffered defeats in the hands of Punjab and Karnataka in their previous matches after having settled for a 3-3 draw with Madhya Pradesh in their opening match.
