KZC lines up rally
IMPHAL, Feb 17: The Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) has announced a rally for immediate political solution for Kuki-Zo on February 18.
The silent rally promoting peace and non-violence will be held in all Kuki-Zo inhabited areas.
In Churachandpur, the rally will commence at 11 am from two starting points--one at Rengkai Community Hall and the other at Koite Playground, and will conclude at Tuibuong's Wall of Remembrance, where a public meeting will take place, said KZC in a notice issued today.
The rally aims to bring attention and expedite the Kuki-Zo demand for a Separate Administration in the form of a Union Territory with a legislature under Article 239A of the Constitution, it said.
All shops along the routes shall remain closed during the rally between 11 am and 2 pm. Dress code is preferably black, said KZC.
