Governor leaves for Delhi

IMPHAL, Feb 27: The seven days timeframe given by Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla to surrender all looted and illegal weapons has expired today, even as he left for Delhi today to brief Central leaders on the situation in Manipur.
Notably, the Governor issued a public appeal on February 20 asking all the people who are in possession of illegal or looted arms and ammunition to surrender the same to the Government within seven days.
He also assured that no action will be taken up against those who surrendered weapons within the given timeframe.
Meanwhile the Governor left for Delhi this afternoon  at the call of Central leaders.
AK Bhalla is expected to return to Imphal on March 3.
