N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Rupkumar PC-B, ESC, X-Polo Club progress into last-16 stage

IMPHAL, Mar 10 : Rupkumar PC-B, Nagamapal; Eastern Sporting Club (ESC), Nongmeibung and X-Polo Club, Wangkhei sealed victories on Day 6 to progress into the last-16 stage of the ongoing 37th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament.
In the first match of the day, Rupkumar PC-B outlasted Paradise PC-A, Wangkhei by 10-3 goals.
S Abung starred with five goals across the first, second and the fourth chukkers for the winning side today as Sh Rohin scored thrice and Bhagat and A Cameroon scored a goal apiece.
For Paradise PC-A, N Philip, L Naotomba and M Danil scored a goal apiece.
Later in a keenly contested match, ESC beat Khurai Polo Club by 5-4 goals.
ESC had a dominating start and were leading by 4-1 goals at halfway mark as A Lamyanba scored twice and K Samanda and S Thambou scored a goal apiece against one scored by Khurai PC through Th Nanao.
Th Nanao scored two more goals in the third chukker to make it 3-5 as K Samanda scored one before adding another goal in the fourth chukker.
Later in the third match, X-Polo Club rode on three goals each from Th Jacob, L Atangba and L Kokeshwor and two goals each from Th Santosh and Th Manisana to earn a 13-4 win against KRYPHSA PC-A.
W Rupa scored three goals for KRYPHSA PC-A while N Alex added one.
