2nd U-23 Men's Trophy YUCC, ESU seal easy wins

IMPHAL, Mar 10 : YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai and ESU, Wangkhei notched up convincing victories in today's matches of the 2nd MNCA H Biramangol Memorial Trophy.
At Khudeiband Lampak, ESU sealed their first Group A victory by handing KSDO, Kyamgei an 8-wicket defeat.
ESU bundled out KSDO for 116 runs in 28 overs after opting to field first through Soibam Sayonba (4/24 in 8 overs) and Khundrakpam Bishomcha (4/24 in 6 overs) and cruised to the target in 22.2 overs for the loss of two wickets thanks to an unbeaten 72-ball 60 from Hanjabam Naoba Sharma.
KSDO collapse came despite Md Shah Jahan's fight 60 off 88 balls 8 batters departed on single digit or zero scores.
In reply, Sayonba also managed a double digit score (23 off 24) as Sandham Abhinash 22 not out off 38 assisted Naoba in securing the victory.
M Riyajuddin claimed both the wickets (2/41) for KSDO in this innings.
Sayonba who shone with both the bat and ball was named player of the match.
Meanwhile, in a Group A league match, YUCC piled up 273 runs for all wickets down in 39 overs and bowled out PTCC, Patsoi Part III for 194 runs in 38.4 overs despite Mandingbam Andy's 122 to seal a 79-run victory.
Opting to bat first, YUCC registered the huge total riding on half century knocks from Ninthoujam Sanjit 75 off 47 and Ningthoujam Rohit 56 off 59 and 67 extras.
Tongbram Devdas 4/39 and Moirangthem Dominic 4/57 shared a bulk of 8 wickets for PTCC before they ended up gathering 194 in the chase as Khundrakpam Punshiba Mangang (3/39), Devraj Nongthombam (2/35) and Loitongbam Kiran (2/23) of YUCC shared 7 crucial wickets .
Ningthoujam Sanjit who led the batting charge for YUCC was adjudged player of the match.
