Loktak project UC

IMPHAL, Mar 10 : Even though Rs 59.05 crore was released for implementation of “Loktak Lake, Experience in Loktak” project, the State Government has not yet submitted any utilisation certificate.
This was stated by Union Minister of Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat  in response to a query raised by Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam in the Lok Sabha today.
The project with estimated cost of Rs 89.48 crore was sanctioned in 2024-25 under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI)––Development of Iconic Tourist Centres to Global Scale.
During a review meeting held on February 11, 2025, the State Government was asked to expedite commencement of work in respect of “Loktak Lake, Experience in Loktak” project, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said.
Against the sanctioned amount of Rs 72.23 crore for development of Imphal-Khongjom tourist circuit, an amount of Rs 61.32 crore has been released while the State Government has submitted utilisation certificate of Rs 61.25 crore.  
Out of Rs 45.34 crore sanctioned for development of Shri Govindajee Temple,  Shri Bijoy Govindajee Temple, Shri Gopinath Temple, Shri Bungshibodon Temple and Shri Kaina Temple, Rs 45.33 crore has been released and the State Government has submitted utilisation certificate of Rs 43.04 crore, Gajendra Singh said.
