DMCC women wing urges

IMPHAL, Mar 8: The Women's Wing, Delhi Meitei Coordinating Committee (DMCC) has extended sympathy to Kuki women and urged them to "lead" for harmony and coexistence as "peacemakers"
This was expressed during the International Women's Day, observed virtually by the committee today.
Women's Wing DMCC spokesperson, Lisham Shan-thalembi extended condolences and prayers for the death of a protester and many who were injured during a protest in Kangpokpi on March 8. The protest, notably, was organised against Centre's initiative to allow free movement in the whole of Manipur, as part of efforts to bring normalcy and peace.
Speaking on the prolonged conflict in Manipur, Lisham Shanthalembi underscored the need for women to actively participate in peacebuilding measures to resolve the crisis.
The spokesperson said women of all communities, including the Kuki community, must lead as peacemakers for harmony and coexistence.
Women's Wing DMCC convenor Khunmanthem Narmada, spokesperson Keisham Sangeeta, media coordinator Naorem Lilina, Dr Syeda Shahni (PhD in Biological Sciences), Sanjita Lisham (founder of Yenning Delicacies), Thokchom Sujata (convener of Imagi Meira) and many other personalities attended the observance.
