More arms, ammo recovered

IMPHAL, Mar 12 : A combined team of security forces recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition from Wangoo Laipham Awang Chingya and Warukok Hill area today.
The joint operation, conducted by 46 Assam Rifles, 2 Mahar Regiment, Kakching commandos and BSF (131 Battalion), was carried out from 6.30 am to 9.15 am.
According to well placed sources, the team found a white bag concealed in a secluded area, containing firearms, ammunition and explosives.
The recovered items include one SMG carbine without a magazine, two single barrel guns, one modified .303 rifle, one revolver (made in USA), one live round of HEDP MG-4 (40 mm), one live round of HEDP MG-3 (40 mm), four HE grenades without detonators, one) IED with green wire weighing about 2 Kg (approx), one red IED weighing about 1 Kg (approx), one black IED weighting about 1.5 Kg (approx), five 70 mm cartridges, one Baofeng handset, one tear smoke grenade, three tear smoke shells (soft nose), one tear smoke shell (normal), one anti-riot shell, one grenade key, four 9 mm ammunition (live round ), ten 7.62 mm live ammunition, eight empty cases of AK rifle ammunition, 27 empty cases of INSAS rifle ammunition, six live rounds of AK-rifle, eighty and one live round ammunition of INSAS rifle
A case has been registered at Wangoo police station.
