37th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo X-Polo Club set up quarterfinal date with Chingkheihunba PC

IMPHAL, Mar 12 : X-Polo Club, Wangkhei knocked out Ibudhou Marjing Polo Club, Heingang by 12-1 goals to set up a quarterfinal date with Chingkheihunba PC in the ongoing 37th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung.
Th Santosh scored five goals across the 1st, 3rd and 4th chukkers to set up the big win for X-Polo Club today as Th Jacob, L Atangba and L Kokeshwor scored two goals apiece and Th Manisana added one.
The lone goal for Ibudhou Marjing PC was scored by N Sadananda in the final chukker.
The day also saw Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club setting up a quarterfinal date with MPSC-A.
MPSC-A rode on T Roshan, M Jawan and Th Ranjit to outlast Rupkumar PC-A, Nagamapal by 9-2 goals and to seal a quarterfinal ticket in the second match of the day.
Roshan scored four goals and M Jawan scored thrice in the first two chukkers to hand MPSC-A a 7-0 advantage before both sides drew nil in the third chukker.
Th Ranjit stole the show in the final chukker adding the remaining two goals against A Ranjan who also scored twice for Rupkumar PC-A.
In another last-16 round clash, M Chaoba and K Jogendro led the scoring to hand Thangmeiband Youth PC an 11-4 win over Universal PC-A, Langol.
M Chaoba Singh scored four goals in this one sided encounter as K Jogendra scored thrice and S Saolin scored twice. K Yaikhomba and Abothe also scored a goal apiece for the Thangmeiband team as K Pandit scored one goal each in the last three chukkers after O Paikhomba added one in the opening chukker.
