Clarification

Please refer to the news item which appeared under the heading Step down : BJP high command to political appointees. It is hereby clarified that the post of the Chairman of the Hill Areas Committee is not a political appointment but is a statutory post. The post of HAC Chairman was inadvertently included in the list of political appointees and our sincere regrets for the gross anomaly.
