Cheiraoba greetings

IMPHAL, Mar 28 : Mayang Imphal MLA K Robindro has conveyed his greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba.
In his message, the MLA said that the festival which marks the beginning of the Manipuri new year is a time for family gathering, community celebration and traditional rituals.
Saying that Cheiraoba celebrates the spirit of community, tradition and culture, Robindro appealed to the people to forget past grudges and start afresh with renewed hope.
Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) also greeted the people on the occasion.
The Council said that Sajibu Nongma Panba is a vital part of Manipur's society, marking the start of a new year and showcasing the customs and traditions of 'our ancestors.'
The Council prayed for the festival to bring peace, unity, and development to Manipur, and also to guide the State towards self-reliance.
