37th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Chingkheihunba PC, MPSC Team-A and Rupkumar PC-A gallop into last-16 round with easy wins

IMPHAL, Mar 7 : Chingkheihunba PC, MPSC Team-A and Rupkumar PC registered comfortable wins to cruise into the last-16 stage of the 37th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament being organised by Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association.
In the first match of the day, Chingkheihunba PC, Kongpal notched up a huge 16-0 win over Lairenjam Polo Club at Mapal Kangjeibung as T Leishemba scored 6 goals alone across all the chukkers and A Basant added four goals in the first and third chukkers.
O Rozer also added twice in the opening chukker as Th Kaoba scored in the first and fourth chukkers and Bhupendrajit scored a goal each in the last two chukkers.
It was a dominating show from the winning side scoring 7 goals in the first chukker itself before adding four goals each in the last two chukkers.
In the second match of the day, MPSC Team-A thumped New Vision Polo Club, Yairipok 8-2 as Y Binoy added thrice, T Roshan and M Jawan scored two goals apiece and Th Romen added one.
Both the goals for New Vision Polo Club were scored by Sh Bony Sharma in the second and fourth chukker as MPSC Team-A led the first chukker 1-0 before taking a 6-1 lead at halfway break and 8-1 lead after three chukkers.
Later in the day, Rupkumar PC-A, Nagamapal rode on Kangjam Swarna's four to knock out Luwang-pokpa PC, Luwangsangbam by 7-3 goals.
Swarna scored twice in the opening chukker against one scored by K Maheshkumar for Luwangpokpa PC to earn Rupkumar PC a 2-1 lead and went on to score a goal apiece in the second and third chukker to make it 4-1.
The last chukker saw N Michael and N Barun scoring a goal apiece for Luwangpokpa PC but M Naoba, A Bisheshwor and A Ranjan found a goal apiece to make it 7-3 in favour of Rupkumar PC-A.
