IMPHAL, Mar 8 : Ishok FC were crowned the champions of the second H Panthoibi and H Tomba Memorial U-13 Boys Football League organised by the District Sports Association, Bishnupur at Ishok playground.
Ishok FC edged past UFC, Bishnupur by 2-1 goals today in the final league match of the 6-team league tournament for the third win and finished on top of the table on 11 points without any losses in five games.
All three goals of the match came up in the first half as Huidrom Rishikanta opened the scoring for the winners in the 18th minute before Khwairakpam Max drew level for UFC two minutes later.
Yumnam Rahul however regained the lead for Ishok FC in the 24th minute and it proved to be the winner.
Earlier in the day, KYVO & SWC, Khunpham were held to a 2-2 draw by RFCC, Keinou.
RFCC enjoyed a slender 1-0 first half lead courtesy of Thingbaijam Bipin (12') but their Khunpham rivals overturned the lead through goals from Yurembam Thoithoiba (47') and Pukhrambam Lanchenba (52').
RFCC however foiled their bid to seal all three points with Tongbram Abinash converting a goal two minutes into the stoppage time (70+2').
