Stage set for quarterfinals of 23rd Challenge Cup

IMPHAL, Apr 9 : The quarterfinal line up of the 23rd Challenge Cup was completed today with FLAK, Kyamgei and FLAM, Yaiskul playing out a 1-1 draw in the Group D deciding match this afternoon.
S Somananda put FLAK ahead after 12 minutes but H Ishworchand drew level for FLAM in the 18th minute. Despite efforts, the two sides remained locked with the scoreline till the final whistle.
With the result, FLAK and FLAM amassed the same 8 points off four matches but FLAK enjoyed a better goal difference and finished as group leaders.
UVSA, Lilong who finished Group A leaders will play Group C runners up VSAI, Thangmeiband in the first quarterfinal match on April 11 from 1.45 pm before FLAK play Group B runners up EMV FC, Lamlai in the second quarterfinal match later in the day from 3 pm.
