Weightlifting manager arrested

IMPHAL, Apr 12: Karnataka State weightlifting team manager who is presently in the State for the 68th National School Games has been arrested on the alleged charge of committing sexual assault on a minor athlete.
The incident took place at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex under Imphal police station on April 10.
Based on a complaint lodged by the minor victim, a team of Imphal police station arrested the weightlifting manager of Karnataka on April 11.
The accused identified as Ramesh Alagudekar (58) s/o (L) Balu Alagudekar of Plot Number 17, Sahunagar Belgavi, Karnataka was produced before a Duty Magistrate Imphal West yesterday. The Court, after hearing the submission of the IO and on perusal of the case record, remanded the accused in police custody till April 17.
