State athletes dazzle at 10th World Yogasana Championships, bring home 10 medals

IMPHAL, Apr 1 : State athletes from Manipur Yoga Society brought home as many as 10 medals including 6 gold medals, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals from the 10th World Yogasana Championship, 2025 that was held from March 28 to 31 at Hanoi, Vietnam under the aegis of World Yoga Sports Federation.
The athletes were accorded a warm reception upon their arrival at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport this afternoon in the presence of Dr Basudev, president Manipur Yoga Society and vice president of All India Yoga Culture Federation, said Manipur Yoga Society in a press release.
The athletes who represented India at the event and won gold medals include Moirangthem Nipamacha (senior men), Wahengbam Priyokumar (masters-II men), Ningthoujam Jit (masters-III men), Ayekpam Bedashri (masters-I women), Pukhrambam Satyabati (masters-II women) and Konjengbam Leimatombi (masters-III women).
Yumnam Renubala (masters-II women) and Kshetrimayum Sobharani (masters-III women) meanwhile won silver medals as Dr Okram Gunadhor and Soibam Mema bagged bronze medals. Dr L Sibananda, Dr A Ranjit and Ksh Joy Singh led the team as manager, coach and assistant manager respectively, the release said.
