Tobacco seized

IMPHAL, Apr 23 : Womenfolk of Maharabi and Tendongyan detained one Imphal bound truck carrying a large quantity of tobacco products and handed it over to Sekmai police today.
The truck, coming from Dimapur along the National Highway, was stopped around 9 am due to suspicions about its cargo.
Upon receiving information, a team of Sekmai police arrived at the scene and took custody of the truck and its contents
Speaking to the media, Ng Tombi, secretary of Tendongyan Meira Paibi stated that the seized tobacco products should be destroyed publicly.
According to sources, the seized products concealed in over 300 bags are worth over Rs one crore.
