IMPHAL, Apr 25 : Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) Table Tennis team who finished overall third in the 1st All India Police Badminton and Table Tennis Cluster 2024-25 held from April 11 to 15 at Kochi, Kerala were accorded a warm reception here at DGP's office, Police Headquarters today.
The MPSC team amassed as many as 4 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze medals in the TT event to seal the overall third place.
The athletes who won gold medals at the meet include Laishram Bikram (NGO's Open 40+ Men's Singles), Laishram Bikram and Nongmaithem Dhanapyari (NGO's Open 40+ Mixed Doubles), S Manitombi (NGO's Open 50+ Women's Singles) and S Manitombi and Madhu Kashyap (UP) (NGO's Open 50+ Women's Doubles).
Meanwhile, Rajkumar Bikramjit (GOS's 50+ Men's Singles), Rajkumar Bikramjit and R Ilanqo (Kerala) (GOS's 50+ Open Men's Doubles), K Sunderbala (GOS's Open Women's Singles), Nongmaithem Dhanapyari and Ch Keilyani (NGO's Open 40+ Women's Doubles) and Ch Narashmi, N Dhanapyari, S Manitombi, Ch Keilyani and Thaja (NGO's Open Women's Team) won silver medals.
The felicitation programme was attended by DGP Rajiv Singh and SP Sports L Sarita among other high ranking police officials who praised the athletes for their performances at the National level competition and encouraged to achieve more laurels in the future for Manipur.
