State Level Sepaktakraw Championships YAWA-A in both sub-junior boys and girls' finals

IMPHAL, Apr 25 : YAWA-A, Singjamei are in both the sub-junior boys and girls' finals of the ongoing State Level Sepaktakraw Championship at IMSUC ground, Heingang.
YAWA-A boys defeated HUDIC, Heingang by 2-1 sets yesterday to make it to the final. They won the first set 15-12 but went down by 15-17 points in the second set before securing a 15-8 win in the third set to seal the 2-1 sets victory.
In the other semi-final match, PUC-A, Kairang eased past ALSA-A in straight sets (15-8, 15-6) to set up the final date with YAWA-A.
Later, HUDIC beat ALSA-A 15-10, 15-7  in the hard line match.
Sub-Junior Girls
YAWA-A sub-junior girls in the meantime will play hosts IMSUC in the final.
YAWA-A beat defeated PUC-B in the first semi-final by 2-1 sets (17-16, 10-15, 15-12) to seal their place in the final before IMSUC outlasted PUC-A in the similar fashion (6-15, 15-6, 15-11) in the other semi-final match to complete the final line up.
YAWA-A had defeated HUDUC 15-11, 15-12 in the third quarterfinal match to enter the semi-finals as IMSUC got the better of YAWA-B 15-13, 15-11 in the last quarterfinal match.
Later in the day, PUC-B sealed a comeback 8-15, 15-8, 15-13 win against PUC-A to seal the third place title in the hard line match.
Senior Women : SAIRC-B in women's final
SAIRC-B are in the senior women's final with a 15-11, 9-15, 15-6 win over YAWA-A in the first semi-final match of the tournament.
Earlier in the league stage (Group B), SAIRC-B suffered a 15-13, 11-15, 11-15 loss to IMSUC-A before getting a walkover win and beating MPSC 15-9, 12-15, 15-10 in the final league round encounter.
YAWA-A, meanwhile, had beaten IMSUC-B 12-15, 15-10, 15-12 for their first league stage win (Group A) before beating PUC 14-17, 17-16, 15-8; SAIRC-A 15-11, 16-17, 15-11 and SWC 15-12, 15-17, 15-8.
