State Level Subroto Mukerjee Inter School Football Tournaments Imphal West, Kakching post commanding wins in U-17 boys’ tournament

IMPHAL, Jul 14 : Imphal West’s Yumnam Huidrom Higher Secondary School crushed Needy Home Academy, Kangpokpi 8-1 as Langmeidong Higher Secondary School overwhelmed Khongjom Standard English School, Thoubal 5-0 in today’s U-17 boys’ matches of the ongoing 64th State Level Subroto Mukerjee Inter School Football Tournaments.
A Achouba (35’, 65’, 69’) scored a treble in Yumnam Huidrom Higher Secondary School’s 8-1 win against Needy Home Academy at Mini Stadium, Ningombam today as W Manihen (7’, 39’) and E Suraj (59’, 70+2’) scored two goals apiece and W Bishal (38’) added one.
The consolation goal for Needy Home Academy was scored by Jiansin Dangmei in the 50th minute.
In the other match of the U-17 boys tournament, L Yuki (10’, 26’, 34’, 40’) netted four goals alone while W Abhinash (26) scored one to earn Langmeidong Higher Secondary School the commanding 5-0 win against Khongjom Standard English School.
U-15 Boys’ Tournament : Chandel, IE, Tengnoupal and Thoubal victorious
The third day of U-15 boys’ tournament being underway at Chajing Kangjeibung saw schools representing Chandel, Imphal East, Tengnoupal and Thoubal securing wins.
In the first match of the day, Chandel’s St Paul’s Higher Secondary School beat Kakching’s Padma Ratna English School 3-0 thanks to goals from K Changhman (14’) and Arakung Chothe (46’, 60’).
In the second match, Ramananda High School, Imphal East beat Mt Zion Senior Secondary School, Senapati in a 5-goal thriller.
H Manithoiba (2’), L Athoiba (43’) and Ng Shidas (59’) found their names on the scoresheet for the Imphal East team as D Rahravio (34’) and Aveisodal (60’) scored for the Senapati team.
In the third match, L Lemba starred with a treble (10’,18’, 33’) and MR Maring (19’, 23’) scored twice to set up a 5-1 win over St Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Tengnoupal against Hundung Kaziphung HS, Ukhrul whose Yarshokin netted the opening goal of the game early in the 2nd minute.
In the last match of the day, Th Morchando (17’, 21’, 42’, 49’) led AG Memorial Academy, Thoubal to a 6-0 win against Khangsillung Hundung Kazipphung HS, Ukhrul.
U-17 Girls: Senapati edge Thoubal 2-1 as Imphal East devastate Chandel
The day also saw Samaritan Public SChool, Senapati edged 2-1 past Tekcham High School, Thoubal and Porompat Sabal Leikai High School, Imphal East demolished St Peter’s Higher Secondary School, Chandel by 8-0 goals in the U-17 girls tournament underway at Langjing Turf Ground.
Sonali Rai (11’) and Sneha Pradhan (16’) were on target in Senapati school’s victory as M Roji scored the lone goal for Tekcham HS in the 41st minute.
Meanwhile, Martina (14’, 16’), Joyshini (20’, 41’) and Rani (24’, 45’) scored three goals apiece to set up the 8-0 win for the Imphal East team as Russia (15’) netted one and SR Alphani of the Chandel team conceded an own goal in the 7th minute.
In the third match of the day, S Lakhipyari (6’, 40’, 53’) netted three goals alone while L Seitamala (14’, 43’) and S Silky (29’,34’) scored two goals apiece to earn CT Higher Secondary School of Imphal West a convincing 8-1 win against Oinam Govt Higher Secondary School, Bishnupur.
L Purnimaluxmi (22’) also scored one goal for the Imphal West team as O Bisheshwori scored the only goal for the Bishnupur team in the 8th minute.
Later in the day, Amutombi Divine Life English School, Kakching notched up a 3-0 win against Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Tengnoupal courtesy of a brace from Thadoi (29’, 30+1’) after Chinata scored the opener in the 22nd minute.
In the 15th match of the tournament staged later in the day, Ringchuila (17’, 24’, 40’, 58’) and Nandini (33’, 44’, 48’) contributed seven goals to fire Khangsillung Higher Secondary School, Noney 10-0 past St Peter’s Higher Secondary School, Chandel.
L Lucy (2’) and Miraluxmi (47’, 49’) meanwhile contributed 3 goals for the Noney team to complete the 10-0 demolition of the Chandel team.
