IMPHAL, Jul 14: The proscribed Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) has condoled the demise of Lt General Nayan Asom, Chairman of the Lower Council of ULFA(I).
According to a press release issued by RPF, Indian special forces using high-end drones dropped more than 150 bombs on four camps of ULFA(I) and a joint camp of ULFA(I) and the PLA, the armed wing of RPF along the border of Nagaland and Myanmar on Saturday (July 12 midnight) and the attack went on till 4 am of July 13.
There were no casualties on the PLA side but Lt General Nayan Asom, Chairman of the Lower Council of ULFA(I) was killed and some of ULFA(I) cadres were injured during the drone attack of Indian special forces.
Expressing deepest condolences over the demise of Lt Gen Nayan Asom, the RPF said, “Heroes sacrifice and no hero is greater than the one who gives his life for his country”.
The drone attacks and proxy-wars initiated by Indian Army against PLA and ULFA (I) up to this time clearly reveals the true nature and intention of India that the people of Assam and Manipur are “arch enemy of India”.
“Historically we were not India and we were independent kingdoms. India knows the history and is convinced that Assam and Manipur cannot be occupied easily. Whatever India said and pried about Assam and Manipur as Indians are lies.
“Arch enemy of India cannot be Indian. We the people of Assam and Manipur should not be blinded by the deceptions and temptation of the Indian Government”, it said.
“Sons and daughters of Assam and Manipur, we are not Indians and we should not be occupied by India. It is high time that we as citizens of our country resist Indian occupation of our beloved Motherland. Let us defend our country and resist Indian occupation”, it added.
