IMPHAL, Jul 15 : The Federation of All Tribal Youth Clubs, Manipur (FATYCM) has submitted a representation to the Governor of Manipur and the Chief Secretary, Government of Manipur, urging a review of the PMMSY Scheme 2024-2025 allocation.
In the representation submitted on June 14, 2025, the FATYCM demanded a comprehensive review of the implementation of schemes in the valley and hills areas of Manipur.
“The blatant partiality and discriminatory approach towards hills areas are unacceptable and require immediate rectification. The hill areas have observed step motherly treatment year after year”, it claimed.
Claiming that the hills areas, despite being geographically larger and vaster, receive disproportionately less attention and benefits from developmental schemes, the FATYCM said, “This blatant partiality has resulted in the hills remaining underdeveloped, exacerbating regional disparities”.
The FATYCM urged the Government to take immediate action to rectify the situation and ensure fair & equitable implementation of schemes across all areas.
The FATYCM also urged the Government to conduct a thorough review of scheme implementation in valley and hills areas; identify areas of disparity and bias; develop area-specific schemes catering to the unique needs of hills areas, considering their vastness and geographical challenges; and ensure transparency and accountability in scheme implementation.
“A fair and equitable approach will promote balanced development, reduce disparities, and foster inclusive growth in Manipur. We hope that the Government will take immediate and concrete steps to address this issue”, concluded FATYCM.
