One convicted for sexual assault

IMPHAL, Jul 14: One Ningthoujam Dhojo (30) has been convicted under Section 10 of POCSO Act for committing sexual assault on a minor girl on August 18, 2017 somewhere in Thoubal district.
W Tonen, Judge, Fast Track Special Court Manipur-2 passed the judgment order today after the final argument hearing of the case was held on July 7.
The mother of the victim lodged a written complaint before the Women Police Station, Thoubal stating that on August 18, 2017 while her minor daughter was sleeping on her bed, Ningthoujam Dhojo came to their house for charging mobile phone.
Asking Dhojo to look after her daughter, the mother went out to buy something.
When she returned home, she found her house locked from inside and when she knocked on the door, Dhojo ran away after opening the door. As she felt suspicious, the mother checked her daughter and she found that her daughter had been sexually assaulted by the convict.
The convict was arrested after he surrendered before the Women Police Station, Thoubal on August 19, 2017.
The Court convicted Dhojo and fixed July 18 for sentence hearing.
