MOIRANG, Jul 14 : Lok Sabha MP Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam visited Kwakta Santhong IDP relief camp and inspected Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School in Bishnupur district today.
While inspecting the school, Bimol interacted with the teachers and the students, and took serious note of an unsafe building constructed recently.
He noticed classes were being conducted inside old classrooms, built some 45 years ago, instead of the new pucca building.
He noticed that the walls of the pucca building had cracks and the floor on the first storey of the pucca building was "vibrating and weak". In addition, the RCC roof was found covered with a layer of roofing tins to seal leakage of water.
"The building is visibly not safe for students and the teachers. The school authority and the public must look into it and the Government must repair the school," Bimol said.
Bimol, however, expressed satisfaction and appreciated the teachers for their dedication.
He assured all possible assistance for the welfare of the school.
At the Kwakta relief camp, he interacted with the IDPs and inquired about their grievances.
