Selected for IIS Senior Grade

Keisham Damaru Singh of Manipur has secured All India Rank 5 in the recruitment of 20 posts of Senior Grade of Indian Information Service in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting conducted by Union Public Service Commission.
Indian Information Service officers are the media managers of the Government of India. They act as a vital communication link between the Government and the people by way of disseminating information and communicating various Government policies and schemes to the public at large and also collecting and providing valuable feedback to the Government for policy formulation.
Currently, Keisham Damaru Singh is working as an Assistant Editor in the Indian Bureau of Mines, Nagpur. He secured the first rank in the recruitment of Assistant Editor in the Indian Bureau of Mines, Ministry of Mines, conducted by Union Public Service Commission in 2023.
Damaru is the son of Keisham Ibohal Singh and Sipra Rani Das of Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mamang, Ayangpalli Road, Imphal East district.
After graduating with BSc (Hons) Botany from University of Delhi in 2015, he took Masters in Mass Communication from Manipur University in 2019 and he worked as a sub-editor of The People’s Chronicle for over three years and then joined St Joseph University, Nagaland as an Assistant Professor, where he worked for over two years.
Damaru obtained a total score of 65 marks in the UPSC interview.
