Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournaments AG Memorial Academy vs St Paul’s HSS in U-15 Boys’ final

IMPHAL, Jul 16 : AG Memorial Academy, Thoubal will face off against St Paul’s Higher Secondary School, Chandel in the title clash of the 64th State Level Subroto Mukerjee Inter School Football Tournament for U-15 boys.
AG Memorial Academy saved blushes to beat spirited Ramananda High School, Imphal East 3-2 in a keenly contested semi-final match at Chajing Kangjeibung this afternoon  to set up the final date with St Paul’s Higher Secondary School who beat St Joseph’s Higher Secondary School, Tengnoupal 1-0 in the first semi-final match.
In the first semi-final match of the tournament, Arathung scored in the 17th minute to give St Paul’s Higher Secondary School a slender 1-0 lead but it was more than enough for the team to book the final berth as St Joseph’s Higher Secondary School failed to capitalise on their chances in both the halves.
Later in the day, AG Memorial got off to a flying start and raced to a 3-0 lead before Ramananda High School staged a late comeback to go down 2-3 at the end.
Morchando put the Thoubal team ahead after 14 minutes before Thoungamba scored a brace (23’, 36’) to make it 3-0.   S Binodkumar scored the first goal for Ramananda High School in the 54th minute while Ng Shidas scored the other goal four minutes later. They however failed to close the gap and eventually the Thoubal team finished on top.
